What are the risks associated with ear wax removal?
Ear wax removal, particularly microsuction when performed by trained professionals, is very safe. Minor risks are rare but can include temporary dizziness, mild irritation, temporary hearing threshold shift, worsening tinnitus, infection or in very rare cases, damage to the eardrum. Our practitioners are highly trained and follow strict protocols to minimise these risks, ensuring your safety.
Is there anything I need to do before my ear wax removal appointment?
Yes, it is essential to use OLIVE OIL ear drops in the affected ear(s) at least two days prior to your appointment. This helps soften the wax, making the removal process more comfortable and effective. Please follow the instructions on your ear drop packaging.
What should I do after ear microsuction?
After treatment keep ears dry for 48 hours. Avoid using cotton buds completely. You may continue to use ear drops 24-48 hours after treatment and limit hearing aids/ear phones use.
